A Burst of Excitement

So life is happening down here. Somethings have changed but many things are the same. I am so excited to be here and to get things started. The house has no sink, but a shower and a toilet. There is no running water, but we have water. We also have drinking water. So... it is different, but now taking a shower is an interactive activity. I already see the areas in which I am going to be stretched this summer. But I am excited, I am invigorated. I truely have been blessed with an amazing opportunity. My excitment is masking the details, but it has also only been one day. I have much to do to be prepared for my volunteers this summer, but it is all doable. I am so glad that Nathaniel is here with me the first week. First of all it would be rough to be alone the first week, but I am glad it is him rather than someone I just met, because my comfort zone is being tested and hopefully growing. Off Again!

I am off the Domican Republic in 3ish hours! I am excited for the summer, but honestly more nervous then last summer. I have a week to prepare for the volunteers and then it begins! For those of you who do not know, my role is the International Volunteer Coordinator. I have been planning and preparing all school year, especially this spring, for the program this summer. I have been dealing with insurance companies, creating forms and on and on. The boring stuff that had taught me a ton. But now I am ready for the reward, the reason I took on this program, watching the transformation of people.
